Gosh, the penultimate day of the detox diaries - I’m gonna miss you guys!
I’ve been thinking about my keep and ditch list. When I started this experiment I was sure of a few things.
1) My expensive old products are stashed in my night stand. They will definitely be coming out again.
2) Woman cannot live on vegetables alone. Chocolate, wine and coffee are an essential part of the female diet.
3) A diet is not for life, it’s for 6 weeks and 6 weeks alone.
But now I’m not so sure a couple of the points.
Firstly, I will be throwing out my expensive products. I didn’t really think organic was going to work when it came to my skin care. But six weeks later and my skin is softer, brighter and feels fantastic. So the only things that’ll be hitting the waste paper bin is the old stuff.
Secondly, whilst a diet is not for life, a lifestyle change is and there are certain eating habits I’m taking with me. More fruit and veg, healthier grains and no processed food wherever possible. Organic would be nice, however it’s super expensive and not that easy to get hold of.
But I’m right about the final point. We ladies do need a bit of chocolate, wine and coffee - I’ll just make mine organic in the future.

Today I posed myself a question: Can you satisfy chocolate craving?
Well obviously I’m gonna do this properly so I ate a lot of said fruit.
And did it work? Nope.
But I do have tummy ache and never want to eat mango again.
Ooooh - maybe I should try this with chocolate?!

Wow - I’ve less than a week to go on the detox, and I have to admit I’m torn.
Half of me can’t wait to have a bit of naughty food. I’m already planning a huge, creamy hot chocolate to celebrate…yum.
But another, surprisingly big part of me doesn’t want the experience to end.
I feel much more in tune with my body - yes, I know that sounds weird, but what I mean is that I’ve spent so much time, energy and thought space on how my body is feeling, I can see some really positive changes. From my skin feeling much softer and more nourished to having more consistent energy throughout the day.
So the thing I’m considering now is how much of this I actually want to give up in a week’s time? I’ll let you know. xx

Wooo hooooo!!!! And Aaarrrgh….. Am officially a flying trapeeze artist.
Not a very good one, granted, but still.
What a way to get back into exercise.
I loved it and was terrified in equal measure.
I thought I’d be exhausted today, but actually have a new spring in my step.
Good wholesome food giving me energy for good wholesome fun - this is living, and it’s living well. xx

I’ve broken free!
It’s out with the foul nutrition shake and in with some lovely little pills to do the same thing with none of the gross gritty tasting water - YES!!! A tiny part of me feels like I’ve failed in this aspect of the task, but Nutritionist Nikki (I do love a bit of alliteration) reckons that if my body isn’t used to the shake by now it’s time to try something else. And about time too! Vitamin tablets seem like a much nicer option. In every other aspect though, I’m beginning to feel like this detox has settled into something like normal life. I’m loving the new found energy I have - I don’t have sugar lows…mainly because I’m not eating anything sugary (other than fruit, but that doesn’t affect you in the same way.) It’s been a bit of a trial and error in the food preparation stake, and I’ve taken to eating a main meal at lunchtime now. This means I have enough reserves to get me through the day, I’m not loosing weight any more, and I don’t have to get up half an hour earlier to make my lunch! That last one is maybe the most important to me…
And my skin has never been better. This week I’m particularly loving face masks. It’s like a mini facial once or twice a week and I’m seriously hogging the bathroom with my scrub, mask, cleanse and moisturise routine. . . Which reminds me, it’s pamper time. So if you don’t mind, I’ve got an appointment with the DD spa…catch you tomorrow xx
